High Scope

High Scope

The foundation of the High Scope Curriculum is that education is most effective when children are interested, engaged, supported, and encouraged. This active learning approach to early education achieves powerful, positive results. This curriculum approach emphasizes developmentally appropriate learning and practices for young children.

Our goals for young children:

  • To gain knowledge and skills in important academic, social, emotional, and physical domains.
  • To learn to plan many of their own activities, carry their plans out, and talk with others about what they have done and what they have learned.
  • To develop strong executive function and self-regulation skills that will last throughout adulthood.

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive classroom management program that empowers both teachers and students. Based on current brain research, child development information, and developmentally appropriate practices, the goal of the program is to provide systematic changes in schools.

For our students in prekindergarten, we have built a Conscious Discipline program that includes a focus on strategies to disengage stress, consistent routines and structure, supports for children with language impairments, and parent education.
