Dr. Rossana Chiarella, Pre-K Inclusion Teacher at Palm Springs North Elementary, recently had the opportunity to soar into the sky and document the experience so she could take her love of space and science back into the classroom.
Dr. Chiarella was selected to become a teacher liaison with the Space Foundation and learned about the Civil Air Patrol's Teaching Orientation Flights.
The Teaching Orientation Flights culminate in a one hour flight experience. During the flight, Dr. Chiarella recorded videos of story read-alouds and took photographs of the view that she could bring back to her classroom to share with her students.
An article chronicling Dr. Chiarella's experience with the Civil Air Patrol can be found at the WLRN website.
The Teaching Orientation Flights are offered at no cost to educators through the Civil Air Patrol.
